DENVER DA ANNOUNCES MAJOR DRUG BUST ALONG EAST COLFAX; PIPE BOMBS SEIZED

Denver DA John Walsh announced Thursday 17 suspects were charged with conspiring to distribute drugs "in bulk and retail amounts" along the East Colfax corridor as well as other parts of the Denver area. Authorities also seized five pipe bombs, 46 weapons, about 15 pounds of cocaine with an approximate street value of more than $100,000, $100,000 in jewelry, $35,000 in cash and nine vehicles, Walsh said. Denver Police Chief Ron Thomas said: "The arrests and charging of these 17 suspects are the culmination of months of diligent - and sometimes dangerous - work." The Denver DA’s Office, the FBI’s Violent Criminal Enterprise Task Force and the Denver Police Department conducted the investigation.
