A motorist who pleaded guilty to transporting an explosive device that injured two members of a police bomb squad was sentenced of two years of community corrections, the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office said Thursday.
Deputies arrested Clay Nimmo, 48, during a traffic stop in January and seized the explosive device as well as illegal drugs.
The bomb squad members "were trying to render it safe and collect evidence for the criminal case" when it detonated, the sheriff's office said. They are recovering from their injuries.
