Cops captured a violent Northglenn murder suspect hiding in a field about 200 miles away in southeast Colorado after his auto crashed during a high-speed chase. Alexei Munive-Rodriguez - considered armed and dangerous - was arrested without incident by Lamar police officers, Prowers County deputies and Colorado state troopers, according to Northglenn police. The suspect was wanted in connection with a stabbing death Friday night in the 10500-block of Irma Drive in Northglenn.
"The investigation quickly identified Munive-Rodriguez as a suspect, and the Northglenn Police Department issued a statewide alert to law enforcement agencies," officials said.
"As part of the effort to locate Munive-Rodriguez, a Lincoln County Sheriff's Office deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop," officials said. "A pursuit followed, and the suspect vehicle eventually crashed near Lamar."
Lincoln County, where the chase began, is about 100 miles southeast of Northglenn. The distance to Lamar from Lincoln County is about another 100 miles.
Police released no other details. Munive-Rodriguez will be sent to the Adams County Jail.
