1 PERSON SERIOUSLY INJURED IN AURORA BLAZE

Fast-spreading flames destroyed a home in Aurora, seriously injuring a resident, the fire department said.

The blaze broke out early Saturday in the 20000-block of East Vassar Avenue. "Engine 9 arrived first on scene and found a fully involved garage fire with a vehicle inside," fire officials said. "The fire had spread to the second level of the home, with heavy fire from the front of the residence extending into the attic space." Four people, including the seriously injured victim, exited the dwelling before firefighters arrived. [Photos: Aurora Fire]
