A Thornton police officer was shot and wounded late Sunday and the suspect fled.
The officer is expected to survive the shooting in the 12800-block of Ulster Street, which stemmed from a call about an "unwanted person," police said.
Police identified the suspect as Luis Arebalo, 38. He is considered armed and dangerous. Another police officer returned fire, however, it wasn't known whether Arbalo was wounded.
Arebalo stands 5-foot-9, weighs 180 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair. He was wearing a black short sleeve shirt and dark pants.
If you have information, call 911. Do not approach Arebalo.
