Firefighters responded Monday night to 911 calls reporting a "smoking and sparking" parcel at a shipping facility in Douglas County. The large building was "filled with smoke" and the source was a box of lithium-ion batteries "off-gassing," South Metro Fire said. Firefighters removed the parcel and transferred the batteries for disposal, the building was ventilated and firefighting gear was subject to decontamination. One person was transported to hospital from the incident at UPS, 13101 James E. Casey Avenue, Englewood.
