INFERNO DESTROYS BUILDING IN SPRINGS

Flames gutted a commercial building early Thursday in Colorado Springs, the fire department said.

"The building is known to be vacant," officials said. "A deep-seated fire quickly spread and the building was fully involved upon arrival." No injuries were reported in the two-alarm blaze at Sawatch Street and Colorado Avenue, however, the building is considered a total loss, officials said. [Photos: Colorado Springs Fire, AMR]
