SWAT ARRESTS KNIFE-THROWING MAN AFTER HOTEL STANDOFF; 1 COP STABBED, ANOTHER BITTEN BY SUSPECT'S DOG

Firing gas into a barricaded hotel room, a SWAT team arrested a knife-wielding felony suspect who stabbed a cop.

Another officer was bitten by the suspect's dog during Thursday's incident at
Woodspring Suites at 121 Edgeview Drive in Broomfield. The hotel was evacuated.

Police were attempting to arrest the suspect - wanted on felony violent crime warrants - when he threw the knife. Officials described the officer's injury as "non-life threatening." A standoff and negotiations followed.

Finally, "the SWAT team deployed gas into the hotel room and arrested the suspect without further incident," police said. "In addition to the officer who had a knife wound, another officer was bitten by the suspect's dog." Broomfield Animal Services took custody of the dog. [Photo: Broomfield Police Department]
