The National Weather Service says smoke from distant wildfires - which rolled into the Denver area overnight - will persist today and possibly into the weekend.
Temperatures, meantime, will be cooler for the next 24 hours and probably rise Saturday and Sunday, forecasters say.
The mountains should see rain today. Denver may too. Or maybe not. Next week will likely bring "above normal" temperatures.
