Representative Rick Taggert says the state's $10 million stopgap funding for food aid "is about getting Coloradans the food they need to survive."
"Many people across Colorado, including the communities I represent, rely on these resources and we will continue working to provide support,” said Taggart, a Republican from Grand Junction.
Taggert is a member of the state legislature's Joint Budget Committee, which approved the emergency funds for Colorado food banks as the federal government shutdown stalls distribution of assistance to American families in need.
