Food Bank of the Rockies says: "The government shutdown - combined with rising cost of food and need at a 10-year high - is causing an emergency level of need."
"It’s up to us to fill the gap," the food bank says. "Every $1 you give, you can help provide enough food for 3 nourishing meals."
Organized in 1978, Food Bank of the Rockies is the largest hunger charity in the Rocky Mountain region, operating a central distribution center in Denver that ships groceries to local food banks.
