A police officer opened fire on a fugitive fleeing from Walsenburg in an auto, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation said.
Wednesday's incident began at a service station near I-25 and ended several miles away on Highway 10 after a high-speed chase.
The man, believed to be armed and dangerous, was found to be injured. The nature of the injury wasn't disclosed. He was wanted in Crowley County in a domestic violence case. No police officers were hurt.
The Huerfano County Sheriff's Office provided assistance during the chase.
