HEARTBROKEN GIRL REUNITED WITH LOST CHICKENS 'PERRY' AND 'PEDRO'

A 9-year-old girl named Maple has been reunited with her wayward chickens "Perry" and "Pedro" who were corralled and rounded up by a Douglas County deputy sheriff.

"Maple got Perry and Pedro as baby chicks two years ago and her family lovingly calls them her emotional support chickens," the sheriff's office said Tuesday. "When Perry and Pedro went missing last Wednesday, Maple was heartbroken. The family searched and worried and eventually feared the worst. "Then something incredible happened. The family saw the news of our Deputy wrangling the chickens and immediately recognized them as their beloved pets."
Perry and Petro were wandering near Jordan Road and Bluegrass Circle in Parker last Wednesday and the deputy carefully loaded the chickens into to his patrol car - after they crossed the road to get a ride to the animal shelter. [Photos: Douglas County Sheriff's Office]
