DUMB AND DUMBER: COPS STOP AUTO, SUSPECT FLEES ON FOOT; SECOND AUTO HITS COP CARS

Denver police stopped a driver who hit a barrier, fled on foot and tried to swim away in the Platte River. As they arrested him, another motorist struck two cop cars and a private auto.

Suspect No. 1 surrendered and was arrested for investigation of eluding, driving without a license and obstruction, according to police. Suspect No. 2 was arrested for investigation of careless driving, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and no proof of insurance. No one was hurt in the Feb. 7 double-whammy near northbound I-25 and Park Avenue West. Police called it a "Two for one."
