ORPHANED RED FOX KIT ON MEND AFTER LIFE-AND-DEATH STRUGGLE

An orphaned Red Fox kit is on the mend at Rocky Mountain Wildlife Alliance after a brush with eternity. "Emaciated and suffering from severe mange, he had become so weak that he could no longer keep up with his family," the wildlife alliance said. "Eventually, he was forced into the open - exposed, vulnerable, and alone." Jefferson County Animal Control was able to nab the frightened animal. "He is now safe and receiving intensive care in our hospital: treatment for mange, thermal support, fluids for dehydration, and the nutritional rehabilitation he desperately needs to rebuild his strength," the alliance said.
