A "Freddy the Freeloader" marmot hitched a 266-mile ride from Lake City to Broomfield inside the frame of a truck. "After a couple of hours of careful work, Animal Services Officers were finally able to safely get him out using a catch pole," Broomfield police said after this week's animal adventure. "The little traveler was then transported to the Greenwood Wildlife Rehabilitation Center where he'll be assessed before being returned home," police said.
