Matthew Muniz Jr., 29, was arrested Wednesday after bolting from the Otero County Courthouse upon learning he was about to be arrested on a warrant for stalking and domestic violence, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation said.
He was apprehended after locking himself in his apartment - which is located just across the street from the courthouse in La Junta - for more than five hours.
Muniz was making a court appearance regarding another case related to felony eluding, possession of a dangerous weapon and possession of a prohibited large capacity magazine, according to CBI.
He had been free on bond. The fresh warrant was issued in Pueblo County. He faces even more charges after the police standoff at his apartment.
