ATTEMPTED MURDER CHARGES IN FIREBUG CASE

Zachary Crone, 28, was arrested as a suspect in a series of arson fires in Grand Junction and booked for attempted murder, police said Tuesday.
The fires broke out in a residential area between North 10th and 12th streets and extending from Walnut to Orchard avenues on June 26 at about 1 a.m.

"First responders arrived on scene to find active fires along several fence lines that had spread to a storage shed and an occupied three-story residential condominium," police said.

Crone was arrested Monday night and faces seven counts of attempted murder, nine counts of first-degree arson as well as other charges, police said.
