The Colorado State Patrol is seeking witnesses or dashcam footage of a head-on crash in a no-passing zone on Highway 50 west of Canon City.
The crash occurred Monday at about 1:20 p.m. and caused serious injuries.
The patrol said: "Preliminary reports indicate that the driver of a white 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 began passing vehicles in a passing zone while traveling eastbound on Highway 50.
"The driver of the Silverado continued to pass several vehicles as the road changed to a no-passing zone, leading to a crash. The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado struck a 2024 Jeep Wrangler traveling westbound head-on."
The Silverado driver, age 18, was arrested on vehicular assault and careless driving charges and suffered minor injuries. The driver and passenger in the Wrangler were seriously injured.
