The patrol said: "Preliminary reports indicate that the driver of a white 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 began passing vehicles in a passing zone while traveling eastbound on Highway 50.

"The driver of the Silverado continued to pass several vehicles as the road changed to a no-passing zone, leading to a crash. The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado struck a 2024 Jeep Wrangler traveling westbound head-on."
